Day By Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Oliver's Camp, Tarangire National Park
You will arrive at Arusha Airport and board your scheduled flight to Tarangire National Park – Air Excel Arusha to Kuro 08:00 – 08:20 Transfer from Kuro Airstrip to Oliver’s Camp arriving in time for lunch. Rest a bit before you head off for an afternoon game drive. Return to camp for drinks and dinner.
Day 2: Oliver's Camp, Tarangire National Park
A full day of exploring this lovely park. Go for a morning and an afternoon game drive
After the Serengeti, Tarangire has the greatest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania and in the dry season the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather and not surprisingly the predators follow. This is also the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as oryx and gerenuk are regularly spotted. Tarangire is also known for its spectacular baobab trees, and its breathtaking views of the Masaai Steppe and the mountains to the south. Located just a few hours drive from the town of Arusha, Tarangire is a popular stop for safaris travelling through the northern circuit on their way to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. The park extends into two game controlled areas and the wildlife are allowed to move freely throughout.
Day 3: Ubuntu Camp, Southern Serengeti
Transfer from Oliver’s Camp to Kuro Airstrip and board your scheduled Air Excel – Kuro to Serengeti South 08:30 – TBA. Transfer from Serengeti South Airstrip to Ubuntu Camp game driving enroute. Have lunch at the camp, followed by a short siesta before you head out for an afternoon game drive. Return to camp for dinner and drinks.
Day 4: Ubuntu Camp, Southern Serengeti
A full day of exploring Serengeti National Park – Southern area! Morning and afternoon game drives
Day 5: Sayari Camp, Northern Serengeti
The Serengeti together with Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomises Africa for many, and then add a Masai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. Unlike the southern plains of the Serengeti that dry out, forcing all but the hardiest of species to leave, the Northern Serengeti remains lush and green throughout the year. The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. From July through to October the Migration is in the Northern Serengeti and this is where many of the most famous scenes of the Migration occur with almost daily crossings of the Mara River. But that is not where the game viewing ends; large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland to mention but a few. Day Notes Transfer from Ubuntu Camp to Serengeti South Airstrip to board your scheduled P a g e | 8 Coastal flight Serengeti South to Kogatende 08:25 – 09:20. Transfer from Kogatende Airstrip to Sayari Camp. Lunch, followed by a short rest before heading out for an evening game drive. Return to camp for dinner and drinks.
