5.0 / 51 rating

Kiri Camp offers a combination of both game drives and water activities (water & flood dependant). Based on a private concession, these activities will take you to some of the more remote areas in the delta, previously inaccessible. A motorboat ride during peak flood times promises to enthrall you and captivate you, with the chance of seeing iconic wildlife from the river. Glide on quiet mokoro’s through the water lilies and view wildlife from below as you sail along at water level height. The wildlife in the Kiri area is diverse and plentiful, renown for its lion and buffalo interactions and rare wild dog numbers. As Kiri Camp is in a private concession, off road and night driving are allowed, as are armed nature walks through the surrounding islands with knowledgeable guides.

WHY CHOOSE KIRI CAMP?

  • Off road and night driving are allowed, as are armed nature walks through the surrounding islands with knowledgeable guides.
  • The rooms are a master blend of modernity, comfort and exposure to untamed wildlife.
  • A water based safari in a traditionally shaped mokoro canoe to gain a different perspective on game viewing.

Kiri Camp questions

Are off-road and night drives allowed?

They are, because Kiri sits on a private concession rather than inside a reserve with stricter rules. Armed nature walks through the surrounding islands are also possible with the guides, which opens up parts of the Delta that vehicles cannot reach.

What water activities are there?

Both a motorboat and a mokoro, though this is water and flood dependent. During peak flood a boat ride reaches deeper into the system, while the mokoro glides among the water lilies and puts you at eye level with the wildlife along the banks.

What is the game viewing like?

The Kiri area is diverse and busy, known for its lion and buffalo interactions and for rare wild dog numbers. The private concession also means fewer vehicles at a sighting. Children of all ages are welcome and rates start from US$1,217 per person per night.
