Camp Details

5.0 / 51 rating

Little Machaba is a traditional safari-style camp in the game-rich Khwai concession in the northeastern region the Okavango Delta. While Little Machaba shares the same island as Machaba Camp, it is a much smaller, more intimate camp that is also built on raised decks.

WHY CHOOSE LITTLE MACHABA CAMP?

  • The food served at camp is a wonderful mixture of local cuisine flavoured and cooked in good old fashion home style cooking.
  • Mokoro Safari is a great way to see the waterways and is tranquil and quiet.
  • Guided walks are leisurely and time is taken to observe the smaller things in the bush that one normally misses when driving.

Little Machaba questions

How does it differ from Machaba Camp?

The two share the same island in the Khwai concession, but Little Machaba is much smaller and more intimate, and it is built on raised decks rather than at ground level. If you want the same area with fewer fellow guests around the fire, this is the one to look at.

Can you get onto the water?

Yes. A mokoro safari is a quiet way to explore the waterways, and guided walks are deliberately leisurely, with time taken to notice the smaller things that are missed from a vehicle. Both are included in the lodge activities covered by the rate.

Is it suitable for families?

Children of 12 years and above are welcome here, so it is not the choice for younger families. Rates start from US$754 per person per night and include accommodation, all meals, laundry, lodge activities, return vehicle airstrip transfers, drinks excluding imported and premium brands, levies and taxes.
