Omaanda, meaning rhinoceros in Oshiwambo, is a five-star lodge set within the Zannier Reserve by N/a’an ku sê, an incredible private animal conservation reserve of 9000 hectares in the countryside surrounding Windhoek, only 30 minutes drive from Windhoek Hosea Kutako Airport. Overlooking the boundless savannah, the lodge offers 10 comfortable round thatched huts, paying tribute to the traditional architecture of Ovambo. A spa with two treatment rooms and a boma complete the lodge facilities. For safety reasons Omaanda only welcome children from 6 years onwards. That is precisely what it is suited to. The lodge is only about 30 minutes' drive from Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport, set within the 9,000-hectare Zannier Reserve by N/a'an ku se, so you can be in the countryside within half an hour of landing without a long transfer.

What are the rooms like?

There are ten round thatched huts, built as a tribute to traditional Ovambo architecture. Two of them have two bedrooms, which works for families or friends travelling together. The lodge also has a restaurant, a cosy bar overlooking a heated infinity pool, a spa with two treatment rooms and a boma.

Are children welcome?

For safety reasons Omaanda only accepts children from six years upwards. Days can include exploring the conservation reserve at sunrise, sunrise yoga, stargazing and dining that ranges from morning coffee on the front of a safari vehicle to fireside cocktails at the boma.
