Koroi Forest Camp, Arusha National Park, Tanzania

Arusha National Park sits at the base of Mount Meru. Its terrain takes in moist savannah, alpine moorland and montane rainforest. There are no Big Five encounters here, which keeps it quiet and uncrowded. Travellers can enjoy canoeing safaris, walking, and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, alongside an extinct volcano and a string of lakes.
Wildlife includes buffalo, giraffe and several antelope species. Black-and-white colobus monkeys are a highlight of the forest. Flamingo and close to 400 bird species can be seen here.
The climate is pleasant and mild all year round. The dry season runs from June to September, with temperatures from 11°C to 21°C. There are two wet seasons: the long rains from March to May and the short rains from October to November, with temperatures from 13°C to 26°C.
