What are the sleeping tents like?
The tents have been designed with Moroccan decor mixed with modern touches, so it is a comfortable version of a nomadic camp rather than a rough one. Nights in the dunes are the point here, with very little to interrupt the sky. A Single Tent is from US$148 per room per night through 2026.
How do we get out into the dunes?
By camel, mostly. Camel treks let you follow a nomad's day, and there are guided walking tours through the Sahara as well. The camp sits beside one of the largest groups of dunes in the region, reaching 150 metres high and spanning some 50 kilometres, and you can spend time with a Touareg family to see nomadic life first hand.
Can the camp take a whole group or celebration?
Yes. Erg Chebbi has capacity for 30 guests, and it is regularly used for birthdays, anniversaries, family groups and corporate events. It tends to suit travellers drawn to natural, historical and cultural themes rather than those wanting resort facilities.
