No. The rate covers accommodation, room amenities and breakfast only. Lunch and dinner are available at the Fairview House restaurant and charged as you go, as are all drinks. It is worth knowing if you are comparing it with the fully inclusive safari lodges elsewhere on our list.
When are rooms best value through the year?
Rates move by season. A Standard Room is from ZAR 4,224 per room per night between 1 May and 30 September, ZAR 4,986 in March, April, October and November, and ZAR 5,867 in January, February and December. The quieter winter months are noticeably cheaper if your dates are flexible.
Does it work for families as well as couples?
It does. Children of any age are welcome, and a child is counted as under 18. There are eight rooms across the Main House and the Coach House, so a family or a group of friends can take a good share of the hotel while couples still have the run of the 68 acres of countryside and fynbos.
