Situated in the spectacular Atlas Mountains in Morocco, the award-winning Kasbah Tamadot was bought by Sir Richard Branson during one of his famous ballooning expeditions. Each of the 43 rooms and suites has been individually decorated to reflect the beautiful architecture of the building and features antiques from all over the world.
Kasbah Tamadot is perched at the top of a valley with views up to Mount Toubkal and over to some of the traditional Berber villages that dot the region. The hotel itself is a delightful collection of tiled courtyards and gardens and features a stunning infinity pool. Everywhere you look you’ll discover unique pieces of art, exquisitely carved doors and ceilings, tapestries and much more as you explore the grounds.

How did the kasbah come to be a hotel?
Sir Richard Branson bought the property during one of his ballooning expeditions over the Atlas Mountains, and it now belongs to his collection. Each of the 43 rooms and suites has been individually decorated to reflect the architecture of the building, with antiques gathered from all over the world.
What is there to do without leaving the grounds?
Plenty. The cookery lessons are hands-on sessions where the chefs teach you to make some of the kitchen's most popular dishes. Otherwise there is the infinity pool, and simply exploring the staircases, tiled courtyards and gardens, planted with a wide variety of evergreen and flowering plants, takes a while in itself.
What are the views like, and is it suitable for children?
