How do we reach the island?
By helicopter, flying over mountains, baobabs and shipwrecks dotted along the wild coastline before landing on the private island of Nosy Ankao, around ten square kilometres in size. Do note that helicopter flights are charged separately and are not part of the villa rate.
What activities are covered by the rate?
Shared island activities include guided lemur trekking with boat transfers to the adjacent mainland, forest walks, scuba diving around Miavana with resort diving lessons, snorkelling, a cultural visit, boat cruises, shore-based and half-day fishing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, kite surfing and bicycling, plus one electric buggy per villa. Stays of five nights or more include one helicopter excursion per group.
What is not included?
Reserve-list wines and champagnes, entry visas, flights and helicopter flights, extra helicopter adventures, deep sea fishing, PADI qualifications, spa treatments and any privately guided activities or lessons. Conservation levies are added to the nightly rate. One-bedroom villas were quoted at US$3,700, with every villa having ocean views and direct beach access.
