Ngorongoro Crater Camp, Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania
A Luxury Tented Camp in Tanzania
Camp Details
Here, close to the rim of the largest extinct volcano in the world, the simple meets the sublime. Just 10 impeccable, uncomplicated tents give easy access to the great caldera that is home to thousands of animals, including all of the Big Five – among them, the largest of the remaining bull tusker elephants in Africa. The camp occupies a prime position in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, in an acacia forest barely 15 minutes’ drive from the crater’s floor. Our earliest upright ancestors are thought to have taken their first steps in these parts some 3.6 million years ago and the sense of wonder they doubtless felt is palpable today.
