Can children stay and can they trek?
Children are welcome and there is a family cottage designed for them, made up of two independent en-suite rooms connected by a shared verandah. Children under fifteen are not permitted to visit the gorillas, so families usually plan the trek around one parent at a time.
What do the rates cover, and what is excluded?
Rates from US$1,669 per person per night for a suite in March to April 2026 include three meals per night booked, laundry, room service, drinks covering house wines, non-premium spirits, beers and soft drinks, plus applicable VAT. SACOLA fees are excluded.
Is there more here than the gorillas?
There is. Golden monkeys are another draw, and the lodge is closely tied to conservation and community empowerment, with organic gardens and upliftment projects you can see for yourself. The main lodge has a sitting room, library and games room, and a responsible tourism and community awareness room.
