The lodge has 26 main rooms and two family rooms. There is a tastefully designed restaurant and bar, in line with the cultural style of the Simiens. All the roof angles match the Simien style of approximately 45° and walls of stone to blend with the local style.

Questions about Simien Lodge
What wildlife can we expect around the lodge?
Gelada monkeys are found around the lodge on most days, and more than eighty bird species have been recorded in the immediate area. The Ethiopian wolf and the walia ibex live at Chennuk, deep inside the park, so seeing those takes a longer day out from here.
Does staying up here save time in the park?
It does. Guests based at the lodge are already well on the way into the Simiens and avoid the morning drive out through the town of Debark that others have to make. Trekking has long been the main activity in these mountains, and the lodge sits well placed for it.
Is it really the highest hotel in Africa?
It bills itself as the highest hotel in Africa, with 26 main rooms and two family rooms. The restaurant is a spacious room built around a log fire, and the bar, warmly furnished, claims to be the highest place to get a drink on the continent. Rates start from US$130 per person per night.
