Cricket World Cup 2027 in South Africa and Zimbabwe: Luxury Travel Around India’s Matches
You book your match tickets with the ICC. We plan everything else — luxury lodges, domestic flights, private transfers, safaris and golf.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup returns to southern Africa from 2 October to 21 November 2027, with matches hosted across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. India’s group stage takes the squad from Cape Town’s Newlands to the iconic Wanderers in Johannesburg, with a stop at Victoria Falls along the way.
You handle the match tickets directly with the ICC. We build the rest: handpicked luxury lodges, domestic flights, private transfers, safari stays between fixtures, and tee times at top-tier courses if you play golf. We’ve spent over 15 years running private journeys across Africa, and a World Cup is as good an excuse as any to make the trip.
How It Works: You Secure Tickets, We Handle the Journey
We like to keep things clear from day one so you know exactly what to expect.
1. You book your match tickets directly
We don’t sell match tickets or act as a ticket broker. The ICC sells all tickets directly through its official portal, tickets.cricketworldcup.com. The official ticket ballot is open for registration now and runs from 1 October to 21 November 2026. Registering for the ballot is free — you only pay if your entry is successful and you go on to buy tickets. Every application links to your personal ICC account. Apply through the ballot for your chosen fixtures and hold on to your confirmation emails. The ICC emails ballot results on 14 December 2026. Sticking to the official portal is the only way to avoid fake or marked-up secondary tickets.
2. We manage all your land and air arrangements
Once your ballot entries are in or your match dates are set, share your schedule with us. We handle the groundwork:
- Boutique 5-Star Accommodations: Luxury hotels and safari lodges close to host venues
- Regional Logistics: Internal flights connecting host cities, the Kruger, and Victoria Falls
- Private Transfers: Dedicated local drivers for every match day and airport run
- Custom Safaris: Curated extensions before, during, or after the tournament
- Championship Golf: Tee times at South Africa’s premier golf clubs
- Guided Experiences: Private tours through the Winelands, Cape Peninsula, and Victoria Falls
- Entry & Visa Support: Full documentation assistance for visa and entry applications
3. We build unhurried, private trips
We don’t run crowded fan buses or group tours. We curate quiet, well-paced trips using vetted luxury hotels and private game reserves, pairing you with experienced drivers and guides so your non-match days feel like a proper holiday.

Base Locations for Each Fixture
Cape Town (Newlands)
Newlands rests right against the back of Table Mountain, roughly 20 minutes from the V&A Waterfront. Most of our guests like to spend extra time here. You have the Peninsula drive, Robben Island, world-class dining, and the Stellenbosch wine valleys an hour down the road. Plan on at least four nights in the city, especially if you want to fit in golf or wine tastings. Cape Town hosts India vs Australia on 7 October and the first semi-final on 17 November.
Johannesburg (Wanderers)
The Wanderers sits in Illovo, minutes from Sandton’s top hotels. Johannesburg serves as the primary arrival point for international flights from India and connects directly to the Kruger, Bloemfontein, and Victoria Falls. It works well as the anchor for your arrival or departure. India plays Pakistan here on 10 October, and the stadium hosts the final on 21 November.
Centurion (SuperSport Park)
SuperSport Park sits between Johannesburg and Pretoria. You don’t need to move hotels for this match: staying in Sandton and taking a private driver to the ground on match day is the easiest route. India faces Afghanistan here on 14 October, and the venue hosts the second semi-final on 18 November.
Bloemfontein (Mangaung Oval)
Located in the Free State, Bloemfontein is a quick hour’s flight from Johannesburg. It’s a smaller, quieter city, so the most efficient route is flying in the afternoon before the match and heading out the following morning. India plays Qualifier A here on 17 October.
Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya Stadium)
India’s final group fixture against Zimbabwe on 24 October takes place at the new Mosi-oa-Tunya Stadium. Expect this fixture to fill up fast. The town has direct flights from Johannesburg and features a handful of exceptional lodges along the Zambezi River. You can easily pair the match with a river cruise, a helicopter flyover, or a short road trip across the border into Botswana’s Chobe region. October brings lower water levels, opening up views of the sheer basalt cliff face beneath the cascades.

The Chalo Cricket, Golf & Safari Special
If we were booking this trip for ourselves, this is how we’d design it: Cape Town’s coastal courses, private wine tastings, and a Kruger safari with a round at Leopard Creek, finishing in Johannesburg for the cricket.
It’s built for two people travelling together, with private guides handling the details and plenty of downtime left unscheduled. Pick your start date around your match tickets, and we’ll weave the match days directly into the route.

Alternative Ways to Plan Your Trip
The Full Group Stage Circuit
Built for fans following the team from start to finish. Spend three and a half weeks travelling from Cape Town on 7 October to Victoria Falls on 24 October. Start in the Cape, use Sandton as your base for matches at the Wanderers and Centurion, fly in for the Bloemfontein fixture, fit in a mid-trip safari, and close out the group stage at Victoria Falls.
One Match + Safari
Ideal if you want to see a single marquee game and spend the rest of your time in the bush. From Johannesburg, you can fly directly into the Sabi Sand or Kruger private reserves (see the parks and regions in our South Africa from India guide). If you’re travelling with family, Madikwe offers a malaria-free safari alternative along the Botswana border. From Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park is 90 minutes away by road.
Cape Town, Winelands & Match Day
Designed for couples blending a broader holiday with one evening at the stadium. Spend a week exploring Cape Town, Stellenbosch, or the Hermanus coast, anchored by India vs Australia at Newlands on 7 October.
Semi-Finals & Final Knockout Leg
If India advances into mid-November, Cape Town and Centurion host the semi-finals on 17 and 18 November, leading to the final in Johannesburg on 21 November. Hotel space gets tight fast during knockout week; we can set up flexible holds that let you adjust as results play out.
Why Travel With Chalo Africa?
Deep Regional Knowledge & Understanding of Indian Travellers

Big tournaments bring packed tour buses and rigid schedules. We focus strictly on private trips: your own driver on match days, small boutique stays, and quiet safari lodges that cap guest numbers on vehicles.
Single-Point Trip Management
A single travel specialist looks after your entire journey across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. If a match gets pushed to a reserve day or an airline adjusts its schedule, you have one direct point of contact to handle all ground adjustments.
Essential Travel Logistics
Weather: October & November
Spring transitions into early summer across southern Africa during October and November. Cape Town stays mild with clear, sunny days and cool evenings. Johannesburg, Centurion, and Bloemfontein are warm and bright, with occasional afternoon thunderstorms starting late in the season. The Kruger and Victoria Falls are hot and remain in the dry season, making it one of the absolute best times of year for wildlife viewing.
Health & Malaria
The Kruger, Victoria Falls, and Chobe sit in malaria zones; Cape Town, the Winelands, Johannesburg, and Madikwe are malaria-free. Consult your doctor or travel clinic well before departure regarding recommended prophylaxis.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I buy official tickets for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027?
Official tickets are sold strictly through the ICC’s portal at tickets.cricketworldcup.com. Avoid secondary market sites and unauthorized third-party resellers; tickets purchased outside official channels risk being cancelled at the gate.
When do Cricket World Cup 2027 tickets go on sale?
The official ICC ticket ballot is open for registration now and runs from 1 October 2026 to 21 November 2026. Registering for the ballot is free: you only pay if your entry is successful and you go on to buy tickets. Every valid entry submitted within this window has an equal chance of selection, so there is no advantage to entering on day one. You can apply for up to four tickets per match. The ICC will email every applicant their ballot result on 14 December 2026; if your entry is successful, that email explains how to buy your tickets and how long you have to do so. Any remaining tickets may go on general sale later through official ICC channels.
Can Chalo Africa buy my match tickets for me?
No. ICC rules require every fan to submit ballot entries through their own personal ICC account. Nobody can enter the ballot or purchase tickets on your behalf. Once you apply, Chalo Africa steps in to manage all your luxury accommodations, regional flights, private stadium transfers, golf bookings, and safaris.
When should I lock in my land arrangements?
Luxury lodge space in the Kruger and boutique hotel inventory in Cape Town fills up fast around match dates. We recommend confirming your itinerary by November 2026, so your arrangements are in place before the ICC ballot results arrive on 14 December 2026.
Do Indian passport holders need a visa for South Africa?
Yes. Indian passport holders require a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) issued by South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs prior to travel. For ETA applications, the primary applicant must be at least 18 years old, and your passport must have at least 19 months of validity remaining at registration. Processing usually takes 24 to 48 hours. We provide all the confirmed hotel vouchers and flight itineraries you need to attach to your application. Always verify updated rules on the official Home Affairs portal before applying.
What vaccination certificates are required when travelling from India?
If you fly directly from India to South Africa without a long layover in a yellow fever belt, you do not need a yellow fever vaccination certificate. However, if you transit for more than 12 hours through, or lay over in, a yellow fever risk zone (like Nairobi or Addis Ababa), a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory upon arrival. Review our complete yellow fever travel guide for details, and consult a travel medical clinic for routine updates.
What are the best flight routes from India to South Africa?
There are currently no non-stop flights between India and South Africa. The simplest options involve a single connection. You can fly via the Middle East (Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha, or Etihad via Abu Dhabi) or via African hubs (Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa or Kenya Airways via Nairobi). These carriers service Johannesburg (JNB), with several offering connections straight into Cape Town (CPT). If you connect through Nairobi or Addis Ababa, try to keep your layover under 12 hours so you don’t require a yellow fever certificate.
