Questions about this South African golf and safari trip

Which golf courses does this trip include?

Five rounds are built into the twelve days: Steenberg in Constantia, Clovelly at Fish Hoek, Erinvale in Somerset West, De Zalze near Stellenbosch and Leopard Creek on the edge of Kruger. Golf is included in the rate, alongside accommodation, transport and a nine-day Europcar rental of a Group C car or similar.

Is there enough here for a non-golfing partner?

There is a good deal. Non-playing days take in Robben Island by ferry, a full private day on the Cape Peninsula with Cape Point, Boulders Beach and Table Mountain, and a full private day in the Cape Winelands with tastings at Waterford, Anthonij Rupert, Ernie Els and Lanzerac. The trip closes with game drives in Kruger.

Where does the safari part happen?

Days nine to eleven are spent at Lukimbi Safari Lodge in Kruger National Park, reached by flight from Cape Town to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport. Morning and afternoon game drives are included, the Big Five roam the park, and walks are an option. Kruger park entrance fees are covered within the rate.

What does the trip cost and what is excluded?

The rate is from US$6,700 per person sharing for twelve days and eleven nights. It excludes flights, visa processing fees, insurance, tips, gratuities and porterage, and all items of a personal nature. Airport meet and greet on arrival, 24/7 on-call local support and all local tourism taxes and levies are included.

Where do you stay along the way?

Accommodation is at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel on the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, the Lanzerac Hotel & Spa in Stellenbosch and Lukimbi Safari Lodge in Kruger. The pattern follows the golf, with the first stretch based around Cape Town and the Winelands before flying north for the final nights in the bush.
