Kafue National Park is one of Africa’s largest and most untouched wilderness areas, offering a truly immersive and exclusive safari experience. Stretching across vast landscapes, the park is incredibly diverse, ranging from floodplains and open grasslands to dense miombo woodlands and winding river systems.
What makes Kafue unique is its sense of true isolation and scale, visitors often experience the wild with very few other vehicles, creating a rare feeling of privacy and connection with nature.

How is the time split between the two camps in Kafue?
The journey is built around two very different corners of Kafue National Park. You fly from Lusaka to Lufupa Airstrip for the first stay at Musekese Camp on the riverine side of the park, then move north to Ntemwa-Busanga Camp on the Busanga Plains before flying back to Lusaka or Livingstone. A minimum of six nights across the two camps applies.
What activities can we do at each camp?
At Musekese the days combine game drives, walking safaris, boating, time in the hide, fishing and conservation activities, so you see the river system from several angles. At Ntemwa-Busanga the focus shifts to morning and afternoon game drives, all-day drives, exploration and birding across the open plains. Two shared safari activities a day are part of the rate.
What does the price cover and what should we budget for separately?
The rate starts from US$4,950 per person sharing and covers light aircraft flights to and from Lusaka, road transfers to the airstrips, the inter-lodge transfer, six nights on an all-inclusive basis, two shared daily activities and park fees. International flights, premium brand drinks, entry visa, travel insurance and gratuities sit outside it. We suggest around US$10 per person per day each for your guide and the lodge team.
Does the cost change depending on when we travel?
It does. For 2026 the rate is US$4,950 per person from 1 April to 30 June, rising to US$6,150 per person from 1 July to 15 November. The later window falls in the drier part of the year, when the Busanga Plains are at their most productive for game viewing, which is reflected in the price.
Is Kafue a good choice if we want to avoid busy parks?
It is one of the main reasons people choose it. Kafue is among Africa's largest and least explored national parks, and guests often go long stretches without seeing another vehicle. The park holds large predator populations, elephants and one of the widest ranges of antelope in Africa, across floodplains, grasslands, miombo woodland and river systems. It suits travellers who want something less commercial.
