- Rates are based on a group of six guests and are stated on a per-person sharing basis; rates for smaller groups are available on request
- All rides are privately guided by a professional riding guide and conducted in the English style using French cavalry and English general-purpose saddles
- Each day includes between 4 – 7 hours of horse riding, covering 20 – 30 kilometres per day. Full days of riding when moving camps are alternated with shorter riding days, riding out of camp in the morning and returning for lunch
- An intermediate level of fitness and riding ability is required, with riders being confident at all paces and weighing under 90kgs. Beginner riders are not accepted.
- Masai Mara campsites are subject to availability; conservancies included in the itinerary are subject to change
- There is a baggage restriction of 15 kgs on all internal flights, in soft bags

How much riding is involved each day?
Each day includes between four and seven hours in the saddle, covering 20 to 30 kilometres. Full days of riding when moving camp alternate with shorter days when you ride out from camp in the morning and return. All rides are privately guided and conducted in the English style, using French cavalry and English general-purpose saddles.
Where do we ride?
In the private conservancies of the Masai Mara. You fly into the Lemek Conservancy, meet your guide and camp, and ride across to the Mara North Conservancy. Riding lets you get close to wildlife without altering its behaviour, whether that is cantering alongside zebra and wildebeest or walking quietly past grazing elephant.
Where do we stay over the eight days?
The first night is at Hemingways Nairobi. After that you are in an exclusive-use private mobile tented camp set up in the Masai Mara, moved to picturesque locations as the ride progresses, with evenings around the campfire. The trip runs eight days and seven nights in total.
What is included in the price?
From US$11,421 per person, covering bed and breakfast at Hemingways Nairobi, full board in the exclusive-use mobile camp, soft drinks, beer, house wines and selected spirits in the Mara, daily riding with a professional riding guide and a Kenya Professional Safari Guide, day game drives, park and conservancy fees, scheduled flights, one single-entry visa, AMREF Flying Doctors membership, transfers and laundry.
What is not included, and how are rates calculated?
Champagne, luxury spirits and select wines in the Mara are extra, as are additional meals and drinks at Hemingways, activities outside the inclusions, international flights, additional visa fees, gratuities and personal items. Rates are based on a group of six sharing, with smaller-group rates on request. Departures from 1 June to 31 October and 18 to 31 December 2026 are US$11,536.
