Questions about this Zanzibar break

Can this be booked on its own or only after a safari?

Either works. It is designed as a relaxing end to a wildlife safari, but it stands up perfectly well as a short holiday in its own right. Four days and three nights is enough to see something of Stone Town and then settle into the beach without feeling rushed, and we can lengthen the beach stay if you would rather slow down.

Where do we stay?

The first night is at The Neela Boutique Hotel in Stone Town, set in a restored historic building that blends vintage and contemporary elements drawn from the town's cultural history. You then transfer to the north west of the island for Elewana Kilindi Zanzibar, a secluded beach retreat scattered across the hillside above a powder-white sand beach.

Are children welcome?

Kilindi Zanzibar accepts children over the age of 16, so this particular pairing suits couples and adults travelling together rather than younger families. If you are travelling with children and want a Zanzibar beach stay at the end of a safari, let us know and we will suggest a property set up for family bookings instead.

What is included in the rate?

Bed and breakfast at The Neela, full board at Kilindi with soft drinks, beer, house wines and selected spirits, and coastal activities there including paddleboarding, kayaking, interactive Swahili cooking classes and sundowners. A half-day Stone Town tour on day two, airport and airstrip transfers, laundry, the Tourism Development Levy and AMREF Flying Doctors membership are also covered. International flights, visas and gratuities are not.

When should we go, and are there any closed dates?

Rates start from US$2,522 per person for 1 March to 30 April, June, and 1 September to 21 December, rising to US$2,984 for 7 January to 28 February and 1 July to 31 August. Kilindi Zanzibar closes from 1 to 31 May 2026. Over the festive period from 22 December to 3 January 2027 a minimum five-night stay applies, with rates on request.
