Tucked into the southern boundary of Nairobi National Park, The Emakoko is a boutique lodge with just ten rooms and a private house, owned and hosted by Emma and Anthony Childs. It’s the perfect place to begin or end a safari, surrounded by wildlife yet just 40-45 minutes from both JKIA and Wilson Airport, and close to Nairobi’s key attractions – the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage, the Giraffe Centre and the Karen Blixen Museum. Guests enjoy game drives in the park, home to four of the Big Five and a thriving black rhino population, as well as easy access to local art galleries, shops, and cafes in Karen and Langata.

How convenient is The Emakoko for the first or last night of a safari?
Very convenient. The lodge sits on the southern boundary of Nairobi National Park, roughly 40 to 45 minutes from both JKIA and Wilson Airport, so it works either side of an international flight. Shared transfers to and from those airports are part of the rate, along with two game drives in the park. Park entry fees are charged separately.
What is there to do besides game drives in the park?
Plenty within easy reach. The rate covers excursions to the Giraffe Centre and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage when time allows, with entrance charges settled directly. The Karen Blixen Museum is close by, as are the art galleries, shops and cafes of Karen and Langata.

The Emakoko rates includes: full board accommodation (lunch, dinner and breakfast), soft drinks, beer, house wine, non-luxury spirits, laundry,shared airport transfers (JKIA and / or Wilson Airport), two game drives in Nairobi National Park and excursions to Giraffe Centre / The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (time permitting). Entrance charges for excursions account direct.
