It alternates between a rustic outdoor boma under the stars and the dining room, with Pan African cuisine and gourmet plated meals. The wine and drinks list runs to top South African and imported beers and wines along with spirits and soft drinks. The lodge is a popular setting for small weddings and honeymoons.
What is included in the rate, and what is not?
The rate covers all meals, teas, coffees and snacks, accommodation, dawn and dusk safaris in open Land Rovers, WiFi, and the tourism levy, reserve entrance fee and rhino levy. Drinks on the dusk safari are limited to one per person. Airport and road transfers are excluded, including charter flights into Hoedspruit.
When are rates lowest?
The May to July window is the cheapest, with Luxury and Family Suites from ZAR 5,390 per person per night, against considerably higher rates from January to April and August to December. The lodge is small and intimate, with a spacious lounge opening onto a deck where elephant and antelope are often in view.
