There are four, by French architect Pierre Bories with interiors by David Collins Studio. Each has double-height ceilings, glass-fronted bedrooms that open to the vineyards and Simonsberg beyond, and a deck with a private heated plunge pool. South African contemporary art runs through them, and the linens are Egyptian cotton by Coleman Prowse.

Is there a minimum stay?

A minimum of two nights applies between 15 December and 31 March, which is worth knowing when planning a Cape itinerary over the festive season. Rates are quoted per lodge per night, starting from ZAR 40,000.

What does the rate include?

Accommodation, full breakfast either at Hoseki or in your lodge, the wet bar, wireless internet, laundry service, a Delaire Graff wine tasting in the Wine Lounge and a sustainability certificate. Children of all ages are welcome, with a maximum of one child sharing with two adults per lodge; babysitters, cots and extra beds for under-12s can be arranged on request.
