How do we get to Odzala, and does it affect our dates?
It does, quite a lot. All journeys start and end in Brazzaville, and the flight between Maya-Maya Airport and Mboko airstrip runs on Mondays and Thursdays only, departing Brazzaville at 13:00 and returning from Odzala at 09:00. Your itinerary has to be built around those two days, so plan early.
What form do the activities take?
Most combine driving and walking with boating, chosen to reach the most productive parts of the concession and then explore them properly on foot or on the water. Savannah game drives run by day and night, with hyena, aardvark and serval among the species to look out for, and forest buffalo and elephant are common visitors to camp.
What is covered by the rate, and can children come?
Children of 16 and older are welcome. From US$1,135 per person per night, the rate covers the Brazzaville meet and greet and city tour with lunch, return flights to the park, meals, house wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks, the Congo letter of invitation fee, medical evacuation, community and park fees, laundry and limited Wi-Fi.
