Saguni Safari Lodge is situated in Moremi East in the Okavango Delta. It is nestled in an island of mature riparian trees, typical of the Okavango Delta. The Lodge overlooks the ‘Mbudi Lagoon’, in the beautiful game-rich area of Khwai. The name ‘Saguni’ is a bushman name for Khwai, meaning “an area with abundance of game and spectacular sights”
Saguni Safari Lodge has 13 Forest Tents and 8 Luxury River Tents, custom-designed and built in harmony with the island environment. The River Tents are on the riverfront with stunning views over the Sable River and the Forest Tents are nestled under the canopy of trees.
Besides the day-time game drives, which can feature Africa’s big attractions – lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe, there is also the option to experience a night drive. Cultural visits and mokoro excursions are all available at Saguni.

What is the difference between the Forest Tents and the River Tents?
Position, mostly. The 8 Luxury River Tents sit on the riverfront with views over the Sable River, while the 13 Forest Tents are tucked under the canopy of mature riparian trees on the island. Both were custom-built in keeping with the island setting, which overlooks the Mbudi Lagoon in the Khwai area.
Are night drives possible here?
Yes, night drives are offered alongside the daytime game drives, which are conducted in the Khwai conservancy and can turn up lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe. Cultural visits and mokoro excursions are also available, and the two included daily activities are usually a morning drive and an afternoon mokoro.
What are the rates and the child policy?
Forest Tents are from US$560 per person per night between November 2026 and April 2027, and US$738 from May to October. The rate covers all meals, teas and snacks, select local drinks, two safari activities a day, limited laundry and Khwai Airport transfers. No children under six are accepted, and under-eights on request only.
