It is set up for it. There are separate pools for adults and children, buffet-style Pan-African dining that lets everyone choose, leafy walkways and quiet corners between drives, and children of all ages are welcome. The lodge is brick-built with thatch rather than tented, which some parents prefer.
What is not covered by the rate?
A few things worth noting: private airport transfers, mini bar, curio shop purchases, telephone calls, spa treatments, laundry, gratuities and any drinks beyond the two sundowners included on the dusk safari. Wi-Fi access at the lodge is limited rather than unlimited.
Is there a cheaper season?
Yes. A Luxury Suite is from ZAR 5,700 per person per night between 1 May and 31 July, against ZAR 7,430 for the rest of the year, with Royal Suites at ZAR 9,010. The rate includes a welcome drink, all meals and refreshments in the main dining room, dawn and dusk safaris, reserve fees, transfers from the southern boom gate and VAT.

- VAT as per SARS regulations.
