Fully guided. You travel with a private guide, one of Namibia's most reputable and well-known naturalists, in a specially modified air-conditioned 4x4 with pop tops for game viewing. The trip takes a minimum of one and a maximum of seven guests, so it is effectively a private safari rather than a group departure.
What is the route over the nine days?
Nine days and eight nights running Windhoek to Sossusvlei, on to Swakopmund, then Damaraland, and finishing in western Etosha National Park and the private Etosha Heights Reserve. At Sossusvlei you stay two nights at Dead Valley Lodge, inside the park, which gives early morning access to the dunes.

What is the driving like between stops?
Scenic and varied rather than monotonous. You leave Windhoek through the Khomas Hochland highlands and descend the Great Escarpment into the Namib, with a picnic lunch en route. Later days cross the Gaub and Kuiseb canyons to the coast at Walvis Bay, then head north past the Brandberg, Namibia's highest mountain at 2,573 metres, into Damaraland.
