A Luxury Lodge or Hotel in Tanzania
Camp Details
Off the north-eastern coast of Zanzibar, embraced by reef and forest, lies &Beyond Mnemba Island. A world apart, it feels less like an escape and more like a return – to simplicity, stillness and sea. Zanzibar may be the doorway, but it is Mnemba Island that holds the key.
No shoes. No worries. Nowhere to be. Just the slow rhythm of island life, and the freedom to disappear into it. This is barefoot luxury where you’ll feel like the only soul on earth.
With only 12 Bandas, including a Family Banda, Mnemba Island feels entirely your own. Drift from bed to beach, with nothing between you and the ocean but white sand and shade-dappled trees. Open to the breeze, each Banda offers comfort without excess and privacy without walls.

Questions about Mnemba Island
How private is the island?
There are only 12 bandas in total, including a Family Banda, so the island rarely feels occupied. Each one is open to the breeze with white sand and shade-dappled trees between you and the sea. The style is barefoot and unfussy rather than elaborate, and children of all ages are welcome.
What is the diving and snorkelling like?
The house reef can be reached without a boat, which is unusual and makes casual snorkelling easy. There is a PADI dive school on the island, a variety of dive sites and boats readily available. Two dives a day are included in the rate, subject to availability, and full PADI certification is required.
Are transfers from Zanzibar included?
Yes. Return transfers between Zanzibar town or the airport and Mnemba are covered by the rate, which starts from US$2,150 per person per night.
