Questions about Thanda Island
Is the island taken exclusively?
Yes. Jumeirah Thanda Island is a private island off Tanzania's east coast with a single villa of five oceanfront suites, priced from US$33,300 per villa. It is the first property in the Jumeirah Prive collection, a portfolio of secluded islands, historic estates and villas booked on an exclusive basis.
What is there to do on the island?
The island lies within a protected marine reserve surrounded by warm turquoise water. Guests can walk through the bush behind the villa and onto a white sand trail to see the white, grey and black egrets that live there, or stroll the private 1.1km beach.
How secluded does it feel?
Genuinely remote. The only sign of human habitation from the island is the occasional traditional fishing dhow in the distance. The team curates each stay around the guests in residence, and privacy is treated as the priority rather than a selling point.
