Eight spacious tents, six individual units and two tents together as a family unit, are raised on platforms within the canopy, creating the rare sensation of living among the trees while elephant, giraffe, and other wildlife pass below. What is different about sleeping in the treehouses?
The eight tents are raised on platforms within the forest canopy on a hillside at the foot of Uarges, one of the Samburu peoples' sacred mountains. The effect is of living among the trees while elephant, giraffe and other wildlife move below you, which is a very different perspective from a ground-level tent.
Is there space for a family?
Of the eight tents, six are individual units and two sit together as a family unit. Children from six years and above are welcome. The setting combines mountain scenery with access to Samburu culture, so there is more to occupy older children than game viewing alone.
What is the walking like here?
Bush walks are a real feature. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, gerenuk, impala and warthog are regularly seen on foot and are increasing in number, and African wild dog are frequently encountered in the Sarara valley. Guests can also spend a night out under the stars in mosquito net tents after dinner around the fire.
