What wildlife is particular to this area?
Northern Kenya has species you will not see further south, and the lodge highlights Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk and Somali ostrich. Samburu itself is less visited than the southern parks, so sightings tend to be shared with fewer vehicles.

The lodge stands on the banks of the seasonal Ewaso Nyiro River against a backdrop of rocky hills, with views to the Koitogo Hills and the sacred Ololokwe Mountain. It was the first lodge built in Samburu National Reserve. Children aged 5 to 11 pay 50 per cent of the adult sharing rate.
