The Spier Hotel is situated on the historic Spier wine farm in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands, just 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport.

Going since 1692, Spier is one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms, with a fascinating history and a legacy that the owners never take for granted. Today the farm has a modern, conscious energy. Focused on art and good farming, Spier is about farm-to-table food and accoladed wines. Its people are committed to living and working in ways that bring positive change to our environment and community. The Spier Hotel and conference team invite you to do business in an inspiring atmosphere.

Spier Hotel has six courtyards, each with access to the pool and a cool, leafy patio. The Garden Terrace rooms spill out onto these quiet outdoor spaces. Comfy beds and original artworks from the Spier Collection make these rooms special. There’s an energy-efficient mini-bar, and, in the en-suite bathroom, a separate water-wise shower and a lovely large bath.

WHY CHOOSE SPIER?

  • The Spier Farm Kitchen allows guests to customise their picnic with a wide range of freshly-prepared options to choose from – including rotisserie chicken, handcrafted pies and sandwiches
  • Award-winning wine paired with innovative food is what you’ll find at our tasting room on the banks of the Spier dam.
  • The Spa at Spier Hotel will melt away tension and help you feel revived and refreshed with a full programme of skin, body and massage treatments on the menu.
  • Eight is a farm-to-table eating experience. Like its name, the restaurant is an expression of balance, cycles, harmony, infinity and abundance.

Staying at Spier

How far is it from Cape Town airport?

About 20 minutes, which makes Spier an easy first or last night of a South African trip. The farm has been producing wine since 1692, making it one of the oldest in the country, and it now runs with a focus on art, good farming and positive change for the environment and local community.

What are the rooms and courtyards like?

The hotel is arranged around six courtyards, each with access to the pool and a cool, leafy patio, and the Garden Terrace rooms open straight onto them. Rooms hold original artworks from the Spier Collection, an energy-efficient mini-bar, and an en-suite with a separate water-wise shower and a large bath.

Where do we eat and taste wine?

Eight is the farm-to-table restaurant, while the tasting room on the banks of the Spier dam pairs the farm's accoladed wines with inventive food. The Farm Kitchen puts together picnics you customise yourself, from rotisserie chicken to handcrafted pies and sandwiches, and the spa handles skin, body and massage treatments.
