Citizens of India require a visa to enter Botswana. Currently, the processing time for Botswana visas from India is quite high. We recommend giving yourselves at least 5+ weeks to get your Botswana visa issued.

If you are applying for a tourist visa from India, you should apply either from the Botswanan High Commission in New Delhi or the Botswana Consulate in Mumbai:

The High Commission is open for visa application Monday–Friday, 9:00 to 13:00, and for visa collection Monday–Friday, 14:00 to 17:00, with the exception of Indian and Botswanan national holidays. Allow 10-12 days for visa processing.

Visa on arrival facility is not available for Indian citizens.

Botswana Visa Fees from India

Non-refundable visa application fee for a tourist visa: INR 3410

Please verify the latest charges with the Botswana High Commission or Consulate.

Documents required for a Botswana visa for Indian Citizens

  • A completed application form, signed by the applicant
  • Copy of your passport, on A4 paper, showing validity and photograph of applicant, attested by gazetted officer
  • Passport should have minimum 6 months validity and at least 3 unused pages for stamps
  • Cover letter stating purpose of visit
  • Two (2) recent passport-sized, colour photographs
  • Copy of your individual or group travel itinerary and hotel bookings
  • Proof of return travel (copy of flight itinerary or confirmation slip including dates of travel from travel agent)
  • Copy of previously issued visa or visa outcome (if applicable)
  • Proof of funds: copy of international credit card and/or foreign currency endorsement on passport
  • Proof of employment status
    • If employed, provide a typed letter from your employer on business letterhead, with contact details, stating 1) that a leave of absence has been granted, 2) purpose and duration of the trip, and 3) that you will be returning to your current job.
    • If self-employed, provide a copy of your business license and tax returns.
    • If a student, provide an official letter from your school indicating that you are in good standing and that you are registered for the upcoming semester.
    • If retired, provide proof of your retirement fund.
  • Certified bank statement for the last three (3) months
  • Payment of the prescribed application fee
  • Fingerprints of the applicant will be captured either at the time of application or upon arrival in Botswana

Please note that the Botswana visa India applicant must appear in person at the time of submission of application materials.

US Citizens travelling to Botswana for tourism purposes do not require a visa.

    Now I am working in Saudi arabia …I have another offer job in botswana but problem is my Saudi Arabian company not release me so without I exit Saudi Arabia possible to I entry in botswana ……plz give me positive reply..

      Indian citizens normally need a visa to enter Botswana. Having a SA residency permit shouldn’t change this.

      We’ve had guests who were 70+ without a marriage certificate. Unfortunately, there was no alternative. They had to apply for a marriage certificate to visit Botswana.

        Passport itself has a Spouse name. Since its govt recognized one, I dont think a marriage certificate is required (especially old ppl)

    I’m raghuveer Singh chundawat since December 2014 to I was staying in Botswana but now my Botswana work permit is issued 2020 but my regidanc visa was expired 23/11/2018 so is possible I’m can use work permit then I can enter in Botswana.
