Experience the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure before or after your unforgettable safari holiday as you discover Tanzania’s Southern Highlands on the edge of the Great Rift Valley – a region of breathtaking beauty and rich biodiversity. Mufindi Highland Lodge is a cosy base for exploring this unspoiled sanctuary of undulating hills and lush tea plantations, while boasting a temperate climate.

Escape the African heat and find sanctuary in the cool embrace of Mufindi Highland Lodge, where mountain air refreshes the soul and a hearth fire, glowing since 1997, warms the heart. This is where our founders, Geoff and Vicky Fox, have their family home in Tanzania. Savour delicious farm-to-table cuisine, sourced from the lodge’s organic gardens, livestock farm and dairy, macadamia orchards and Arabica coffee plantation.

WHY CHOOSE MUFINDI HIGHLAND LODGE?

  • Mufindi is a working farm, and depending on the time of year, it is possible to see calves, piglets, foals and lambs. Our younger guests are encouraged to help feed the lambs and play with the puppies.
  • full-sized tennis court commanding some special views, a partially sheltered outdoor badminton court, a bowls green and a ‘secret garden’ for ‘aggressive, Foxes’-rules’ croquet; no quarter asked for nor given.
  • The whole area is perfect for cycling, with farm tracks, bridleways and footpaths running through plantations of pine, eucalyptus, tea and coffee, as well as ancient forests and around pristine lakes.
