Remote wilderness of big cats and elephants
Ruaha National Park offers a spectacular view of wildlife that includes predators like Lions, and the endangered species of wild dogs. This is an exclusive park and is less crowded compared to other parks who offer such wildlife experience. The main reason for such varied wildlife is the Ruaha River that attracts animals in the Dry season.
Ruaha is known for its predators - large lion prides, leopard, cheetah and the endangered African wild dog. Big herds of elephant and buffalo gather along the Great Ruaha River in the dry season, and both greater and lesser kudu are found here. Over 570 bird species have been recorded in the park.
The climate of Ruaha National Park is hot and dry all year round. A temperature drop of 6.5°C is felt at climb of every 1000 m. The dry season is from May to October, temperature ranges from 27°C to 14°C and wet season is from November to April, temperature ranges from 28°C to 17°C. Nights are warm all year round.
Park fees are included in every Chalo Africa itinerary.
