Is the camp inside the Masai Mara National Reserve?
It sits on a private concession bordering the Reserve, in the foothills of the Oloololo Escarpment on the rim of the Great Rift Valley. That position gives wide views over the Mara plains and, in season, sight of the Great Migration, including river crossings.
What is there to do beyond game drives?
Bush walks along the Mara River or up the Oloololo Escarpment are part of the offering, and night drives run as well. Early morning hot air ballooning is available daily as an extra. There is also a community programme visit with the Africa Foundation, accompanied by a representative when one is available.
Does it work for families?
Children of all ages are welcome, and the WILDchild programme is included in the rate. From US$785 per person per night in the quieter months, the rate also covers three meals a day, house drinks, twice daily game drives, laundry, Swarovski Optik binoculars for each room, airstrip transfers and emergency medical evacuation insurance.
