With open access to a working farm, you’re free to explore and discover everything Boschendal has to offer. What kinds of cottage are there?
The choice runs from the Mountain Villa to Cottage 1685, designed by Herbert Baker, to a converted Cow Shed in a corner of the farm, plus restored farm cottages in the Orchards, the Werf and the Retreat. The Werf cottages in particular suit a romantic weekend, being closest to the restaurant.
Do you cook for yourself or eat at the restaurant?
You can do either. Each cottage has its own fireplace and a small kitchen, and the Boschendal restaurant and deli are within walking distance of the Werf cottages. The kitchen works on a farm-to-table basis, with menus that shift with the seasons and the produce of the Franschhoek valley.
What is there to do on the farm?
Guests have open access to a working farm, with mountain biking and hiking trails, wine tasting, and the farm and homeware shops and gallery to browse.
