Camp Details
Governors’ Camp is a permanent tented safari camp located in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. Established in 1972, it is one of the longest-operating camps in the Mara ecosystem. The camp sits directly on the banks of the Mara River, within a prime wildlife area with year-round game viewing and excellent birding used year-round by resident animals and seasonally by migratory herds.
The entire camp is under canvas. The classic safari tents overlook the Mara River, while the five family tents offer breath-taking views across the open plains. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and a private verandah. There is also a bar tent with a deck overlooking the Mara River and a dining tent with fantastic views over the plains.
The spa tent offers a range of massages using 100% natural products by The Wild Herb Company.
Eco-Tourism Kenya has awarded Governors’ Camp a GOLD rating for its sustainability efforts and environmentally friendly practices.

Inclusions
Governor’s Camp rates include – full board accommodation, 3 meals per person per night booked & all soft drinks, beers and house wines and “non-premium spirits”, laundry, together with applicable VAT thereon, and transportation of tourists. Transportation of tourists will be in our custom built 4WD vehicles. It includes all air strip transfers in the Mara from the Musiara Airstrip and two or three excursions daily (depending upon client preferences) into the famous Masai Mara National Reserve and surrounding areas, to local Masai Villages (Manyattas), and to / from the local schools and other community and conservation projects we support and which guests may wish to visit.
Rates exclude – premium drinks, personal expenses, Manyatta entrance fees, Park Fees (per day) and Community Fees. There is a supplement for the Justus Suite and the price is available upon request. For FIT travellers and families, all soft drinks, beers, house wines and “non-premium”spirits are included. Champagnes, selected fine wines, premium spirits and liqueurs will be charged as extras. For Groups and Incentives we reserve the right to charge drinks on consumption or to levy a drinks supplement.
