House in the Wild is a family owned and operated boutique lodge, perched on the banks of the Mara River on Naretoi – a private estate within the Enonkishu Conservancy, on the Northern edge of the Maasai Mara ecosystem.
On what was once an intensive farm, Naretoi is the first project of its kind where the land use on the edge of the Mara has reverted from intensive commercial farming back to nature. This “rewilding” project has seen the rangelands around the House in the Wild return to their natural state, with wildlife returning to the area after over a decade of farming.

Naretoi, the private estate the lodge sits on within Enonkishu Conservancy, was once an intensive commercial farm. It is the first project of its kind on the edge of the Mara to revert farmland back to nature, and after more than a decade of farming the rangelands have returned to their natural state with wildlife moving back in.
How much of the stay do we plan ourselves?
As much as you like. The lodge comes fully staffed with a chef and a safari guide who help guests plan activities day by day, and the atmosphere is deliberately casual, so you can set your own itinerary rather than follow a fixed schedule. Children of all ages are welcome, which is part of why families take it.
What do the rates cover?
From US$1,245 per person per night from 5 January to 30 June and 1 October to 19 December, and US$1,750 from July to September and over the festive period. Included are full board accommodation, soft drinks, beer, non-premium wine, laundry, Ngerende airstrip transfers and statutory taxes.
