Set in the heart of the Serengeti, Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp provides a front-row seat to the wildebeest migration. Open from June to October at Kogatende, it offers prime access to thrilling river crossings at the Mara and Bologonja Rivers, where herds brave crocodile-infested waters.

The camp’s 10 spacious tents (12m x 4m) are crafted from durable rip-stop canvas with cooling shade-cloth exteriors. Each tent features mosquito-netted beds, handcrafted furnishings, a private patio, and large netted windows for ventilation. En-suite bathrooms include a flushing toilet, bucket shower, and eco-friendly toiletries, all illuminated by solar-powered lighting.

Questions about this camp

Where is the camp at different times of year?

It moves with the herds, standing at Kogatende in the northern Serengeti from July to October and at Small Marsh, Ndutu, in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area from December to March. There are ten mobile tents at the Bologonja site and twelve at Ndutu.

What are the river crossings like from here?

The Kogatende position gives access to crossings on both the Mara and Bologonja Rivers, where the herds enter crocodile water. Crossings happen on the animals' terms, so we usually suggest allowing several nights rather than one, to give yourself more chances.

How basic are the tents?

Comfortable rather than rough. Each 12m by 4m tent is rip-stop canvas with cooling shade cloth, mosquito-netted beds, handcrafted furnishings, a private patio and large netted windows, with an en-suite bathroom holding a flushing toilet, bucket shower and solar lighting. Walking with an in-house armed guide is offered, and children aged five and above are welcome.
