Rooms are built high among the branches with an open-fronted design, so the view across the Tarangire plains is uninterrupted from an expansive but private balcony. It has the quality of a childhood treehouse rebuilt properly, which is what most guests remark on when they arrive.
Where does the lodge sit?
On the border of Tarangire National Park, with Sunset Hill nearby as the spot to watch the deep orange sunsets before the stars come out. Guests are met on arrival by the local Maasai team, who are closely bound up with the lodge.
What is the wildlife like?
Tarangire is known for its huge numbers of elephant, its baobab trees and its tree climbing lions. Full board rates start from US$600 per person per night in April and May, including meals, soft drinks, beer, house wines and selected spirits, and laundry. Children of all ages are welcome.
