The altitude of Ngorongoro Crater varies from 1,009 to 3,645 m and that is the main reason why there is a huge difference between day and nights in Ngorongoro Crater. Afternoons are pleasant but nights can be freezing. A temperature drop of 6.5°C is felt at climb of every 1000 m. The dry season is from June to October, day temperature is around 19°C but nights are very cold. Wet season is from November to May, temperature ranges from 23°C to 6°C.
