Camp Details
An eco-award-winning small luxurious tented camp nestled in the shadows of Mount Kenya at the foot of an indigenous forest overlooking a waterhole. The camp’s squeaky green safari chic marries beautifully and sensitively with the natural highs of her surrounds in the wilderness zone of Ol Pejeta.
Although located on the Equator, the camp is at an altitude of 6000 ft. Please note that mornings and evenings can be cold due to the influence of the mountain.

Will we need warm clothes?
Yes, more than people expect. Although the camp sits on the Equator, it is at an altitude of 6,000 feet in the shadow of Mount Kenya, and mornings and evenings can be cold because of the mountain's influence. Pack a fleece and something windproof for early drives.
What activities are available?
There is a wide range and an experienced guiding team. Canoeing and mountain biking are included here and not at the other Kicheche camps, and night drives are part of the rate at Laikipia as well. Airstrip transfers, full board, escorted bush walks and laundry are also covered.
Is the food a reason to choose it?
For some guests it is. Laikipia is known within the group for its cooking, prepared daily from locally sourced ingredients, from bush breakfasts with a different selection each day through to sundowner snacks. Rates start from US$570 per person per night in the quieter months.

Kicheche Laikipia rates include: Airstrip transfers; full board accommodation including picnics & drinks, shared game-viewing drives, night drives (Laikipia & Valley only), escorted bush walks, bush breakfasts (Valley only), laundry, Community Discovery trip (Mara Camp only), Maa Trust visit (Bush Camp only), canoeing and mountain biking (Laikipia Camp only) and a $5 per night Community Trust contribution.

Child Policy
Children of all ages are accepted at Kicheche camps. Please be aware that the camps are not fenced and no additional facilities are available to occupy them outside our normal excursions. No baby equipment is provided.
